The University of Wisconsin Richland is part of the broader University of Wisconsin Colleges system designed to help students easily transfer. Students enroll here during their 1st 2 years of university study and then upon earning their Associate degree in Liberal Arts, they can then take advantage of the Guaranteed Transfer Program, which offers students guaranteed transfer to a 4 year institution into the University of Wisconsin system. Through collaboration with some of the other UW universities, students are able to complete a Bachelors or Masters degree at Richland as well. In addition to their coursework, students have the opportunity to participate in the schools athletics program and play sports like volleyball, basketball, or soccer. There are also a variety of clubs and organizations on campus for students to join. Some of these include, History Club, International Club, Educators of the Future, Chess Club, & Student Senate.
The city is positioned halfway between the big cities of Chicago, IL and Minneapolis MN. Richland Center is a safe, small city with easy access to all that Wisconsin has to offer. With 4 distinct seasons, the city provides lots of things for students to enjoy.
Richland Center has many beautiful streams and rivers running through it. From the Wisconsin River to the Kickapoo and Pine Rivers, they are not only scenic but also provide residents of Richland with a variety of activities. Students can take a break and go canoeing, kayaking or even tubing down one of these rivers. Those who enjoy fishing can take advantage of the 267 miles of trout streams throughout Richland Center. The city is covered with trails offering great hiking. Biking, horseback riding, and even snowmobiling are some of the other activities residents enjoy here.
