The University of La Verne offers is a private research based University in Southern California offering a wide variety of programs for its students. The University has 50 undergraduate majors and 11 graduate programs.The university is composed of the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Public Management, College of Education and Organizational Leadership, College of Law, and a Regional Campus Administration that oversees all of the regional and satellite campuses.La Verne fields 19 athletic teams, which compete at the NCAA Division III level. These sports that students can participate in include, cross country, football, soccer, volleyball, water polo, basketball, swimming and diving, softball and tennis, to name a few. Students can also join clubs like Computer Science Club, Future Educators Club, Model United Nations, American Marketing Association and many more.
The University of La Verne’s main campus is located in the city of La Verne, in Southern California. La Verne is a safe suburban community located approximately 30 miles east of the city of Los Angeles. Residents here enjoy warm, dry summers and mild winters with little rainfall. Students can take in a meal at one of the areas many restaurants, watch a movie or take a drive to the beach and catch some sun or surf some waves.
Being close to Los Angeles affords students the opportunity to enjoy all of the attractions and entertainment options the area has to offer such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Getty Museum, and of course world-famous Hollywood.
Many recreational opportunities await students year-round due to the great climate including swimming, golf, hiking in the local mountains, bicycling, and even fantastic skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
