Edmonds Community College is a public, two-year college that offers 75 associate degrees and 51 professional certificates in 33 areas of study. The school also offers a service-learning program. There are over 600 students participating in this program and providing 1100 hours of community service each year. Some of these programs include American Corps Retention Project, The Learn and Serve Environmental Anthropology Field School and Adult Basic Education ESL programs. This program has earned the Howard R Swearer Student Humanitarian Award and a Service Learning Collaboration Award.
Edmonds Community College offers students the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of student clubs and organizations. In addition, students can take part basketball,soccer, softball, volleyball, or their champion baseball team.
Edmonds Community College sits on 50 acres of land in Lynwood, Washington. Lynwood is home to manypeople who work in Washington’s largest city Seattlebecause it is only 13 miles away. Students can takeadvantage of Lynwood’s many retail stores, trails andparks. They can also take a break and drive down toSeattle and enjoy the metropolitan areas many eateries,movie theaters and activities for a change of pace.
Lynwood’s weather is cool and wet, even more so than
Seattle. However that does not stop families and friends from getting out an enjoying the many outdoor activities that Lynwood has to offer. The city has golf courses,walking trails and even print ready maps to go out for aday of orienteering.
